Writing the World’s Ending - The Great Vigil of Easter

We set out to imagine how the story of the world—or even our own lives—could possibly end in a way that satisfies justice. But in the resurrection of Jesus, God gives an ending we never could have written: one where justice is fulfilled and mercy is freely given. “He is risen” rewrites everything, opening the feast of God to all who come with empty hands.
