Walk in the footsteps of

Martin Luther

Walk the German Reformation with Hallows Way Pilgrim Tours

Proposed dates: May 24–June 3, 2027 (working dates; please provide feedback)
10 nights · 11 calendar days · Intimate group of eight

Travel through the cities where the Reformation took shape. Together we’ll explore the lives and ideas of Martin Luther and his contemporaries, worship in historic churches, and make room for conversation about the Reformation’s continuing influence on Christian faith and life.

The route: Frankfurt → Mainz → Eisenach → Erfurt → Leipzig → Wittenberg → Berlin

Along the way

  • Explore Luther’s formative years in Eisenach and Erfurt.

  • Spend two nights in Leipzig, home of St. Thomas Church and the musical legacy of J. S. Bach.

  • Spend two nights in Wittenberg, at the heart of Luther’s reforming work.

  • Share daily conversation, prayer, and time to experience the wonder of each city.

The travel experience

Our group will consist of six pilgrims, traveling together by passenger van to some of the wondrous sites of the Reformation. Choice lodging within walking distance of the places we’ve come to explore allows ample time to connect with one another as ew consider how the Reformation changed the world.

Planning note: These are working dates. Participation by the Thomanerchor in Leipzig on May 29–30 has not yet been confirmed, so the musical program should not be considered guaranteed.

Price and registration: To be announced after lodging, transportation, and the final itinerary are confirmed.
